Anything, an AI-powered app development platform, has partnered with Contra to launch a hackathon challenging developers and creators to build monetizable applications for a $25,000 prize pool. The competition, which opened in late October 2025, accepts submissions through November 14 and encourages participants to create mobile or web apps using Anything's AI-driven development tools.

The hackathon represents Anything's push to demonstrate real-world commercial applications built with AI assistance, positioning the platform as a viable tool for non-technical founders and independent developers to launch revenue-generating products.

Competition Structure

Participants can submit any money-making application built using Anything's platform, which converts natural language prompts into functional code for iOS, Android, and web applications. The challenge emphasizes practical commercial viability, asking creators to build "something original that people actually want to use and pay for," whether that's an AI tool, creative business solution, or workflow automation product.

Ten additional winners will receive bonus prizes consisting of free Anything Max subscriptions for three months, valued at $200 per month, with selection based on social media posts showcasing their builds. Winners will have their work featured on both Anything and Contra's websites and social channels.

Hackathon Guidelines

Judging and Submissions

A four-member panel will evaluate submissions, including Chris Raroque, CEO at Aloa and solo app developer; Leo Acevedo Jr, entrepreneur and developer; along with Anything's Co-Founder Dhruv Amin and Founding Marketer Zaria Zinn. Submissions must be completed through Contra's platform and include the app link, screenshots from Anything, and social media posts tagging the company.

Platform Capabilities

Anything's development environment enables users to build applications without writing code directly, utilizing AI to handle programming tasks, debug errors automatically, and refactor projects scaling beyond 100,000 lines of code. The platform includes built-in integrations with payment processor Stripe and supports deployment to app stores with one-click publishing.

The collaboration with Contra follows the freelance platform's pattern of hosting creator challenges, having previously partnered with companies like Webflow and Replit for similar competitions. Contra operates as a commission-free network connecting independent creators with project opportunities and tools.

With eight days remaining in the submission window as of early November, the hackathon tests whether AI-assisted development platforms can enable non-technical users to create commercially successful applications.
